Good afternoon automation fans!

It's finally Automation October and Automated Concepts recently purchased a Phoenix THERMOMARK CARD 2.0 printer to start printing terminal block labels and adhesive sticker labels. In the past, we were using pre-printed labels for our ABB terminal blocks but, more often than not, we were always missing a number we needed. However, we have since moved over to using Phoenix terminals and we will never go back. Luckily, they had a promotional deal going for the printer + labels and now we have a new toy! Lets check it out...

Setup and configuration was pretty straightforward but the documentation was slightly outdated when it was referring to the software to us for configuration and printing of the labels (CLIP PROJECT is no longer used, PROJECT Marking is the one to use if your thinking of purchasing this printer). After installing the ink ribbon roll, feeding it through the printer head, unlocking the feed tray, install the magazine, insert the blank labels, plug in to network via ethernet or to computer via USB, turn on and complete the initial configuration from the small touch screen your ready to install the PROJECT Marking software (don't forget to install the correct driver!). There are videos on YouTube that will walk you through the initial setup of this printer. Oh, pro-tip, assign a static IP to the printer via the touch screen before trying to print from the PROJECT Marking program if you are using ethernet communication to the printer. Once you set or know the IP address of the printer, you can type that into your browser and connect to the printer. Here you can operate the touchscreen as if you were using it on the device, view statuses, configuration, security, notifications and more.

The PROJECT Marking program is fairly easy to use and navigate. It offers a lot of options for fonts, symbols and printing orientations. It came with a package of adhesive labels (US-EMLP [0828806] - 85.6mm x 54mm) and the magazine to hold them in the printer. These are very nice labels for marking equipment or control panels and we will be using these from now on.

Don't Skip Automation October, where the only scary thing is how FRIGHTENINGLY low our pricing is. So, if you use Phoenix terminal blocks and need custom printed markers or adhesive stickers and do not have the budget to purchase this printer (it's not cheap!), contact Automated Concepts today to see what we can do for you!
