A few weeks ago I mentioned how ACI was supporting Dalworth Machine Products with a startup in California. You can read that post if you missed it by clicking the following link.
Along with the control code and the HMI Automated Concepts provided, we also supplied them with a separate Recipe Manager program that interfaced with the Opto22 Pac Control & Display. Today we will go over that piece of software and what it does.
The Recipe Manager was built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 using an MS Access
database as its data source. Its purpose is to streamline and simplify the process of entering recipes for their asphalt manufacturing process. Simply double click on the
installation file and away we go. Once the program is installed on the customer's computer, a shortcut is automatically added to the desktop then they only need to open it and the recipe manager connects to the Opto22 PAC control program.
The operator clicks the icon in the upper left corner that corresponds to the system they want to enter recipes for which will open its popup window. Once the information is entered and ready to send to the control program, the 'Deploy' button in the top right corner is selected and the recipes are loaded into the control software. Status messages in the bottom right corner informs the user of successful recipe deployment or any problems that may occur. The operator can also save recipes for later deployment by clicking the save button in the bottom left corner of the window. Keep in mind that the Recipe Manager program is only one of two ways to enter recipe information into the system. The HMI has a built in recipe editor window that allows the operator to create, edit and delete recipes as well.
With just a few minor tweaks, this Recipe Manager program can be applied to any application that requires process recipes. If you think that this program would make your job easier and more streamlined then contact us today to discuss your project requirements.
